Yiftach Ramon

Chairman

The third son of the Ramon family, Yiftach, has been involved in the foundation’s activities since its inception and in the past year has served as an instructor in the Ma’amrim program at the Ramon Observatory. In the IDF, Yiftach held several command positions, and was discharged as a navigation officer. He worked in the Scouts movement as a senior leader of the Ramat Chen troop in Ramat Gan, the troop where he grew up, and continued to a leadership role – as a coordinator of activities. He held a managerial position in the family business – where he focused on developing and expanding the nursery. Currently, Yiftach is a student of medical engineering at the Afeka College.

Tal Ramon

Board Member 

Tal is the second son of the Ramon family and has been involved in the foundation’s activities since its inception. Tal served in the Israeli Air Force in a special unit called Squadron 157, holding several command positions. After his discharge, he worked as an instructor in the United States for the Jewish Agency. Upon returning to Israel, he studied at the Rimon School of Music in the composition and writing track. By the age of 26, Tal had released two albums that received rave reviews. Today, Tal continues to perform, give lectures, and share his personal story throughout the country.

Orna Saban

Board Member 

Orna has been the Ramon family’s closest friend for decades. She is one of the co-founders of the Ramon Foundation and its most active volunteer. 

Orna was high school gym teacher in Holon. She has a BA in Physical Education from Wingate Institute. Orna served in the Israeli Air Force as a sergeant in the squadron’s operation center, under Ilan Ramon’s command.

Modi Keren

Board Member

Modi served in the the Israeli Air Force for twenty three years. In the last few years he has held positions of commander of fighter helicopters squadron. He is now an ELAL pilot.

Modi has a BA in Philosophy and State Science from Bar Ilan University, and an MBA from Ben Gurion University. Modi was born in 1956, he is married and has two children.

Dr. Shimrit Maman

Board Member 

Dr. Maman is a senior staff scientist in the Homeland Security Institute and director of the Earth and Planetary Image Facility (EPIF), both at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Her research deals with the application of satellite technologies (remote sensing, GIS, OSINT) to environmental challenges and climate change. She is an integral part of the research team leading BGUSAT, Israel’s first research nanosatellite. She also serves as a UN-SPIDER expert and heads the Israeli Regional Support Office of the United Nations Platform for Space-based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response. Moreover, she was appointed by UNOOSA as a mentor in the SPACE4WOMEN Network. 
 
Maman leads diverse education and outreach programs promoting Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics (STEAM), using hands-on research activities, at both the national and international scales, including the unique, all-girl, international remote sensing science program: She Space.

Lior Levi

Board Members

Advocate Lior Levi is a founder and managing partner of Sekler Levi Law Firm.

Lior is a close friend of Asaf Ramon and Ramon family.

Lior perceives his role in Ramon Foundation as a mission to endow educational

values in the spirit of Ilan, Rona and Asaf Ramon to thousands of children in Israel.

 

Shmuel Zisman

Board Member
 

One of the founders of the international law firm Zisman, Aharoni, Gayer & Co. He is also a partner and an owner of the U.S. law firm ZAG/S&W and of the Chinese law firm ZAG/JunZeJun.  As one of Israel’s foremost commercial lawyers, Mr. Zysman’s is an expert in the fields of hi-tech and internet, life science, commercial and capital markets law, international transactions, communications, and real estate. He is one of Israel’s hall of fame basketball players. A former captain of the national youth team, he was a prominent player in the Israeli Premier league for 17 years. Mr. Zysman is the founder and former head of the Israeli National Basketball Players’ Union.

Shmuel Zysman is an active volunteer in many community-oriented organizations: Friends of Maccabi Association, Friends of the Ezra Lemarpeh Association (of Rabbi Firer`s foundation). He originated and founded “Lev Ohev”, an association helping children with special needs, and founded and chairman of the Israeli Center for Rett Syndrome
