The Horizon Community

Horizion Community

Israel’s Community of Space Educators “Horizon” was established on January 2018 in a joint venture of the Israeli Space Agency in the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ramon Foundation and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education,  supervision of teaching science and technology and the director of science and technology. Since January 2020 the foundation operates the community for the ministry of sicence.

The community includes Teachers, Educators and Professionals from the field: Academics and from the Space Industry. The community was established aiming to expand the circle of practitioners in the space field. To increase exposure to the field in the formal and informal systems, and to create an appropriate infrastructure that is connected to field of programs and content adapted to teachers and educators who are able to use space  as a tool to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics. To distribute innovative content in the education system, and to make quality content accessible to students at all levels. The community currently numbers about 120 members who have been selected in a regulated filing process.

The community operates in a national format  in face-to-face and regional meetings through 5 sub-communities: North, Central, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the Judean foothills and the South led by community leaders.
